7950X3D is rated at 120W. AMD capped its power consumption after some CPUs got burned in AMD HQ due to power consumption. It got burned because eight of those cores are capped because of the Vcache, so they do not generate heat and toast the Vcache.

Non 3D has no such restrictions. It is 120W vs 170W, about 45% more TDP at stock. The actual consumption of non 3D skyrockets in no time, given that there is…
