Windows Recall is a new AI feature from Microsoft that has recently been sparking discussion due to its innovative yet very controversial nature. It is a feature that allows for constant capture of screenshots on a user’s PC to create a searchable database of their computer activity. This feature was initially meant to launch with the new Copilot+ PCs, however was moved to October for Windows Insiders, after their first round of testing showed many concerns when it came to security.
The delay was a decision influenced by the backlash from the community and the scrutiny from government agencies over privacy issues. Microsoft responded by introducing stricter security measures, such as optional activation during setup and tighter encryption protocols.
