GitHub is a popular code repository used by almost all software developers. Anyone can access it to share their code with practically anyone interested. Unfortunately, not every GitHub user is trustworthy. It has, in fact, been used to host malware at least a couple of times.

In March 2018, for instance, cybercriminals hosted cryptocurrency mining malware on GitHub. More recently, a researcher reportedly used the repository to host several malicious projects. WhoisXML API threat researcher Dancho Danchev took a closer look at one such campaign using six domains and subdomains as jump-off points.

The popular Viking survival game Valheim comes to Xbox Game Pass for PC tomorrow (September 29), and in anticipation of that, developer Iron Gate Studio is rolling out crossplay so folks on Steam can play with those using Microsoft’s PC launcher. Pune-based hosting provider SnTHostings has sued the Indian government, challenging rules that would require VPN companies to maintain records of their users’ data. The Internet Freedom Foundation, which is assisting the firm in the lawsuit, announced news of petition in the Delhi High Court in a blog post on Wednesday. SnTHostings CEO Harsh Jain refused to comment on the case, citing the ongoing legal proceedings.

The Delhi High Court issued notice to the government on Wednesday. The case will be taken up next on December 9.
