Threads Is Diving Deeper Into the Fediverse. Here’s What to Know

Threads is expanding its presence in the Fediverse. Threads users over 18 with public accounts will be able to join, share content and interact more widely in the Fediverse, Meta said on Tuesday, with the change taking place in more than 100 countries. The “Fediverse” is a collection of social media platforms that can talk to each other. Meta announced on March 21 that Threads had joining the Fediverse, with an initial beta rolling out to users in select countries. Now, with Threads’ expanded access and its more than 130 million monthly active users, the service is introducing millions of people to the Fediverse.  If you’re still confused, don’t worry. Ukiah Branch Library will be hosting Lines and Spines Book Club on Zoom on Thursday, July 11 from 6-7 p.m. Lines and Spines is scheduled for the first Thursday of every month, but will be meeting July 11 because the library is closed on July 4 for the Independence Day holiday. This Morning’s audience rallied around host Cat Deeley as she opened up about her husband Patrick Kielty’s battle. While co-hosting with Ben Shephard, Cat brought up the subject of shingles and its effects, particularly on those over 50. She shared that Patrick, known for hosting RTE’s The Late Late Show, was initially unaware he had shingles and had attributed the irritation to dust from their house renovations.
