Scott Mills, who is currently filling in for DJ Zoe Ball on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, previously voiced his concerns about hosting a breakfast radio programme. In the final episode of Celebrity Race Around the World, which was broadcast on Wednesday 18 September and filmed earlier this year, Scott told his husband Sam Vaughan after a very early pre-dawn start during the final leg of the race: “Remind me not to do the breakfast show.” Scott hasn’t heeded his own advice, and is currently having to get up very early to host the Radio 2 Breakfast Show as he is filling in for regular DJ Zoe Ball, who has been absent from her show for the past five weeks. The BBC have yet to state why 53 year old Zoe is away, and Scott and fellow DJ Gaby Roslin have been filling in since 8 August.
