A new Microsoft Azure hacking campaign is targeting high-end executives

Hackers are going after highly-positioned professionals, including senior executives, with targeted phishing and cloud account takeover attacks, new research has claimed. A report from Proofpoint outlined a new campaign to compromise Microsoft Azure environments and cloud accounts since late November 2023. The unnamed threat actors were seen to be distributing individualized phishing lures within shared documents. Some of the documents, the researchers state, include embedded links to “View document” which just redirect the victims to a malicious phishing page that steals people’s login credentials. Stealing data and covering their tracks While the hackers seem to be casting a relatively wide net they’re still going after managers and the C-suite, with frequent targets being Sales… Source link

Hackers Target Azure Accounts With Malware-Laden Shared Documents

The advisory post explains the technical details of the hacks, but in short, threat actors use shared documents that are individualized to the target as phishing lures. The document links, however, redirect users to a malicious phishing web page, where account details are stolen. Once stolen, attackers register their multi-factor… Source link

Photos claiming to show Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, casting a vote from jail in the country’s recent general election have been circulating online. But the photos actually date from 2018.  Imran Khan was elected as Prime Minister in 2018 but was removed from office following a vote of no confidence in April 2022.
