NVIDIA and SoftBank have joined forces to develop an innovative platform for generative AI and 5G/6G applications. This collaboration is built on the NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip and aims to establish distributed AI data centers across Japan, as part of SoftBank’s expansion plans.
The partnership between SoftBank and NVIDIA will enable the deployment of generative AI applications and services on a shared server platform, reducing costs and improving energy efficiency. SoftBank will construct data centers capable of hosting generative AI and wireless applications, leveraging the expertise of NVIDIA. … You’re not going to find a desktop CPU, “released” one quarter ago, in a used build.
You’d be lucky to be able to find it in a new build, if the last few years have shown us anything.
You should make sure to check with your intended colo provider, what price impact a given form factor has. In most proper data centers, you’ll pay a lot more for a mid-tower PC, then you would for a 1u chassis (and you’ll find redundant PSU’s in a mid-tower hard to find generally speaking). Cramming desktop hardware into a smaller form factor chassis (IE: 1u/2u) may present…
