Unless you have a specific reason to go with a VPS – don’t.

They will as well on a VPS. You aren’t on a dedicated server – you’re on a virtual server that’s sharing server resources with other servers.

US Senators Propose New Bill to Combat AI Deepfakes

As more and more AI creation tools arrive, the risk of deepfakes, and of misrepresentation through AI simulations, also rises, and could potentially pose a significant risk to democracy through misinformation.

Indeed, just this week, X owner Elon Musk shared a video that depicted U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris making disparaging remarks about President Joe Biden, which many have suggested should be labeled as a deepfake to avoid confusion.

Musk has essentially laughed off suggestions that anyone could believe that the video is real, claiming that it’s a parody and “parody is legal in America.” But when you’re sharing AI-generated deepfakes with hundreds of millions of people, there is indeed a risk that at least some of…

ICC approves USD 70 million budget for hosting CT in Pakistan

The ICC has approved a budget of approximately USD 70 million for holding the Champions Trophy in Pakistan early next year. A source close to the ICC said on Thursday that the world body’s financial and commercial committee, which is headed by BCCI secretary Jay Shah had scrutinised and approved the budget which was prepared and jointly submitted by the Pakistan Cricket Board and ICC finance department.

“The approximate budget is around USD 70 million and only USD 4.5 million has been allocated as additional expenses,” the source said.

The approval of the total budget and additional expenses at the last ICC meeting has generated speculations that the back up funds have been kept in case India refuses to send its team to Pakistan and some matches have to be played at other venues.

It’s so funny that Valve’s new shooter that it won’t admit exists has a public subreddit

There’s a new Valve game out there called Deadlock: it’s a third-person shooter with heroes, abilities, and what looks like a Dota 2-style map. A lot of people are playing it every day, but Valve hasn’t acknowledged that such a game exists. And now we’re noticing that Deadlock even has a public subreddit.

r/DeadlockTheGame, currently sitting at three and a half thousand members, describes itself as “the go to community for Deadlock, a third person MOBA currently in development by Valve Corporation.” It was created three months ago, around the same time screenshots and gameplay videos for Deadlock began leaking onto the web. The subreddit hasn’t seen a ton of activity since its founding, but scrolling down reveals a steady trickling of players in the hush-hush alpha tests sharing their…
