What just happened? A popular YouTuber has launched a campaign called “Stop Killing Games” to apply pressure on publishers to stop making their titles unplayable. The move comes days after Ubisoft shut down the servers of popular racer The Crew, rendering it inoperable for gamers everywhere.

The campaign was launched by YouTuber Ross Scott of Accursed Farms in an effort to highlight how developers and publishers are intentionally designing games to become unplayable as soon as support ends. According to the Stop Killing Games website, the practice lies in a legal gray area, largely because most governments do not have clear laws regarding this issue.

A dedicated group of modders is bringing significant upgrades to a project that aims to resurrect old-school functionality in EA’s Star Wars Battlefront sequel.

Those who own EA’s modern version of Star Wars Battlefront II (as opposed to the recently re-released 2005 version) on PC can now sign up for an upcoming playtest for a mod package that adds custom dedicated servers and other features. This hugely dangerous new DoS attack could crash web servers with just a single connection

Cybersecurity researchers have recently discovered a new vulnerability in the HTTP/2 protocol, which allows threat actors to mount denial of service (DoS) attacks and even crash servers with a single TCP connection.

The vulnerability relates to the use of HTTP/2 CONTINUATION frames, which is why the researcher who found it, Barket Nowotarski, dubbed it “CONTINUATION Flood”.
