The fate of the 2026 Commonwealth Games has been left in the lurch, with many wondering if it will be cancelled.

In April 2022, the Aussie state of Victoria volunteered to host the event. However, it recently backed out, citing rising costs as the reason.

The remaining Australian states and New Zealand have already revealed that they are not prepared to host the multisport event.
