GoDaddy says data breach exposed over a million user accounts

Web hosting giant GoDaddy has reported a data breach, and warns that data on 1.2 million customers may have been accessed.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, GoDaddy’s chief information security officer Demetrius Comes said the company detected unauthorized access to its systems where it hosts and manages its customers’ WordPress servers. WordPress is a web-based content management system used by millions to set up blogs or websites. GoDaddy lets customers host their own WordPress installs on their servers.

GoDaddy said the unauthorized person used a compromised password to get access to GoDaddy’s systems around September 6. GoDaddy said it discovered the breach last week on November 17. It’s not clear if the compromised password was protected with two-factor…

Available now, Telegram Business offers a range of tools, including customizable start pages, business hour settings, automated greeting and away messages, and AI chatbot integration.

Hackers Target Azure Accounts With Malware-Laden Shared Documents

A campaign to hack into Azure Cloud accounts is targeting senior executives at a wide range of organizations, affecting hundreds of user accounts so far, according to California-based cybersecurity firm Proofpoint.

“In late November 2023, Proofpoint researchers detected a new malicious campaign, integrating credential phishing and cloud account takeover (ATO) techniques,” Proofpoint said in an advisory post. The firm notes that the attack is still ongoing.

The advisory post explains the technical details of the hacks, but in short, threat actors use shared documents that are individualized to the target as phishing lures. The document links, however, redirect users to a malicious phishing web page, where account details are stolen.

Netflix, subscriptions boom after the stop to shared mode

L’recent farewell to shared subscriptions turned out to be a plethora of new subscribers for Netflix, reached 5.89 million in the second quarter of 2023. This was revealed by the official data published by the Californian company, queen of audiovisual streaming.

Monzo is not closing all customers’ accounts

A Facebook post which wrongly claimed that the online bank Monzo was closing all its customers’ accounts was shared over 1,500 times before being deleted.

The post said: “Everyone thst is using monzo bank get your money out your account cos there closing every ones account down and keeping everyone’s money !!! It’s just happend to 2 of my mates and now they have no money so go get it out quickly!!!!! [sic]”

It’s not true that Monzo is closing all its bank accounts down.

A spokesperson for Monzo told Full Fact: “This is categorically untrue. We’re a regulated UK bank and we’re operating as usual.”The post was deleted late in the afternoon of Thursday 11 May, after receiving hundreds of shares earlier that day.
