The Rolling to Remember event in D.C. planned for Memorial Day weekend may attract 50,000 bikers, but for now it’s moving ahead without a dedicated staging area.

Organizers first asked to use a Pentagon parking lot as a staging area, but were denied due to COVID-19 concerns. The event’s predecessor, Rolling Thunder, stopped hosting the annual event because they said securing the necessary permits was becoming too difficult.

River Valley Community College, like all educational institutions, had a unique year. We shifted classes online and became experts in personal protective equipment. Our in-person classes looked like a science fiction novel with students and faculty adorned in masks, gowns and face shields. Technology kept students and faculty connected even while in different locations. Staff became adept at advising from home.

Despite the challenges, I believe RVCC became an even stronger community partner. While our students, faculty and staff have always been committed and dedicated to our communities, an opportunity for the college to serve as a vaccination site strengthened those ties.

SNL shares preview dedicated to Dan Levy ahead of hosting debut

Dan Levy will make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut this weekend, and the sketch comedy show has shared a preview that also pays homage to Levy’s famous father and fellow Schitt’s Creek star, Eugene Levy.

In a Twitter post captioned “OMFG,” the Saturday Night Live snippet opens up with a scene featuring the oldest Levy and beloved comedian John Candy, who both starred in SCTV, a famous Canadian sketch comedy show that ran from 1976 to 1984.

SCTV was also the starting point for other Canadian comedy superstars including Catherine O’Hara, who plays Moira Rose on Schitt’s Creek.

This Saturday, February 6, Dan Levy will be joined on SNL by musical guest Phoebe Bridgers.
