Video supposedly showing ‘new air assault’ on Israel actually dates from 2021

A video being shared on social media falsely claims to show a “new air assault” on Israel.

The video, which shows rockets fired into the sky near tall buildings, has been shared on both Facebook and Twitter with captions featuring the word “BREAKING” and claims that “Hamas militants” have started “a new air assault” on Israel.

However, the video does not show events in Israel and the Gaza Strip in recent days. It instead dates from May 2021, which saw a separate period of violence between Israel and Hamas.

The video was shared on Facebook as early as 15 May 2021 and specifies the location to be the Israeli city of Ashdod. The clip is included in a compilation video that was posted to YouTube with the caption: “Iron dome in action 11 of may 2021…

Here’s What Experts Had To Say About The UK Air Traffic Control Failure

A major technical glitch recently disrupted the UK’s air traffic control system, causing extensive delays and stranding thousands of travellers.

This event has reignited discussions about the dated technology supporting the nation’s air traffic systems, the absence of reliable backup solutions, and the financial consequences for both airlines and passengers.

An unnamed airline input a single piece of incorrect data in a flight plan, triggering the failure. The faulty data caused NATS to suspend its backup systems to prevent the presentation of incorrect safety-related information to air traffic…

KI Sawyer Heritage Air Museum hosted a dedication of a new memorial

GWINN, Mich. (WLUC) – The K.I. Sawyer Heritage Air Museum hosted a dedication of a new memorial.

The memorial is dedicated to all those that served honorably and returned.

The dedication included speakers from both the American Legion and VFW. Following the speeches, each service flag was raised by a former or current member of that service. The Space Force flag was raised by two Civil Air Patrol Cadets.

Richard Verwey, K.I. Sawyer Heritage Air Museum president, said it was time to honor all those who served.

“They did their job quietly, they did it effectively and they came back. Those folks heretofore have not been remembered,” said Verwey. “They’ve always been looking to remember the wounded, the dead and the missing, so it’s time to honor the folks that just did their job and…
