Zoe Ball’s BBC return revealed amid growing concern among Radio 2 listeners

Zoe Ball‘s BBC Radio 2 return date has been revealed amid growing concern over her absence.

There has recently been much speculation around the radio presenter’s future with the station after she took an extended leave of absence following the death of her mum.

News of her return date follows Scott Mills filling in for the host without mentioning her absence earlier this week.

However, according to the BBC’s schedules, listeners will be able to hear Ball back on the airwaves from Monday 23 September, with Mills returning to his regular afternoon slot.

Ball’s mother, Julie Peckham, was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer earlier this year. In March, the host revealed she would be taking time off from her breakfast show to care for her.

Sir Mick Jagger and Jimmy Fallon among stars taking in last of 2024 Olympics

Sir Mick Jagger and Jimmy Fallon are among the stars who have been soaking in the last of the 2024 Olympic action.

The Rolling Stones frontman posted a photo to Instagram on Sunday of him posing beside talk show host Fallon and French swimmer Leon Marchand, who has picked up four gold medals in Paris.

Alongside the post, Sir Mick wrote: “What a great Olympic Games! At the track and field with @leon.marchand31 and @jimmyfallon.”

Fallon shared the same photo, captioning it: “Paint it GOLD. @MickJagger #ParisOlympics #JimmyInParis.”

The TV star announced earlier this year that he would be hosting the closing ceremony for NBC’s coverage of the Olympics in a clip shared to social media.

He captioned the post at the time “So…. roommates?” and tagged the French President…

Lahore, Rawalpindi among three venues PCB proposes for 2025 Champions Trophy at home

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has proposed three venues – Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi, in the initial draft shared with the ICC for hosting the 2025 Champions Trophy. The tournament, scheduled for the mid-February-March window next year, will see the return of an ICC tournament to Pakistan after a gap of nearly 30 years.

The Men in Green are defending champions, having last won against arch-rivals India in 2017. Although the ICC had then decided to scrap this tournament, they brought it back in 2022, including it in the new rights cycle (2023-27), with Pakistan getting the hosting rights.
