A new method for hosting and sharing MATLAB Web App

MATLAB App Designer

The visual application design of MATLAB is usually achieved using GUIDE1 or MATLAB App Designer2. GUIDE is the main early development platform for users. It is based on Java Swing development with ActiveX control support, and it can be used to easily build a fully functional and modern application. However, Oracle is no longer investing in its development and its architecture is not conducive to Web workflows. Hence, MathWorks launched MATLAB App Designer as not only a new upgrade but also a replacement for GUIDE in 2016. MATLAB App Designer has a richer graphical user interface (GUI) visualization component and it provides a more stable way for programming app behavior compared to GUIDE. Parler app to launch web hosting for “canceled” companies

No matter where you fall on political lines, we can all agree that Donald Trump’s presidency really shook things up on social media. From Trump receiving a lifetime ban on Twitter to the launch of “censorship-free” social media app, Parler, politically charged content has forever changed the way social media apps manage content.

The folks behind Parler are now taking things one step further to aid companies who fear they may be “canceled.” On Friday, Parler announced the acquisition of cloud company, Dynascale, with the intent to restructure and provide a platform of cloud-based services for businesses that may be at risk of being banned by major providers.

Parler CEO George Farmer will lead the new parent company, known as Parlement Technologies, which is already…

Another stumbling block for Truth Social: Google bars app download over violent content

Truth Social, the social media platform backed by former president Donald Trump, aims to provide an “open, free and honest global conversation.” But one place would-be users won’t be free to access the service is on Google’s Play store. The internet giant says it isn’t allowing downloads of the app due to violent content.

The Google Play app store allows people to pre-register for Truth Social, but they can’t yet directly download the service from the site, unlike at Apple’s App Store. In a statement to CBS MoneyWatch, Google said that it had notified Truth Social on August 19 about “several violations of standard policies in their current app submission.”

The snag with Google is yet another stumbling block for Truth Social, which rolled out earlier this year and has since

Trump-backed Truth Social app allegedly owes $1.6m in unpaid hosting fees

Former president Donald Trump’s conservative social media safe haven, Truth Social, is being accused by a vendor of nonpayment of upwards of $1 million in hosting fees, according to a report from Fox Business on Thursday.

The allegations come from RightForge, an internet infrastructure company, and one of Truth Social’s biggest vendors and creditors. If true, Fox Business reports, it would suggest that the social media platform’s finances “are in significant disarray.”

RightForge entered into an agreement to host Truth Social on its servers in October 2021 when the platform was created. The social media app was founded after Trump was banned from Twitter following the Jan. 6 riot and is meant to encourage “an open, free, and honest global conversation without discriminating on the basis…
