Wexner Center for the Arts to host event series dedicated to Korean animation director Ahn Jae-huun

The Wexner Center for the Arts will host a five-part event series dedicated to the work of Korean animation director Ahn Jae-huun throughout September. 

According to the center’s website, Ahn is known for his work on American shows like “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy,” as well as founding his own Korean film studio called Meditation with a Pencil. The studio’s main goal, according to the center’s website, is creating “drawings that cure and colors that touch one’s heart.”

Local nonprofit dedicated to circus arts to host Soirée des Arts Special: ‘Sideshow’ at Trail Theater – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

Nowadays, the circus is more than clowns just pouring out of a car. Some of the body-bending acts can blow you away.

Next week, Les Ailes du Désir Foundation, Miami’s only nonprofit dedicated to circus arts, is going to host their legendary soirée, and the performers are ready to give you a high-flying good time.

Feast your eyes in wonderment. LADD is throwing its third Soirée des Arts, called “Sideshow.”

The world’s first arts festival dedicated to the ancient arts and rites of the Irish Wake will take place in Mayo later this month.

The groundbreaking Keening Festival will be the world’s first arts festival dedicated to the ancient arts of the Irish Wake and will take place on Saturday, May 18 in Mulranny in the Old Convent.

The Keening Festival offers an extraordinary programme of free walks, keening workshops, talks about the origin of the wake and its rites and an evening concert with world acclaimed Sean Nós singer Caitriona Ní Cheannabháin, BAFTA winner and bardic poet Kevin Toolis and violinist Lisa Fuk’u’da.

Match Of The Day host Gary Lineker has removed a social media post that called for Israel to be banned from international football.

The former England star, now one of the highest profile presenters on the BBC, retweeted a post by The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) on X, formerly Twitter.

In the post, PACBI called for “international public and official pressure on international sporting bodies” – including football’s governing body FIFA and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) – to suspend Israel’s membership and ban it from international tournaments and games.

Peoria Arts Hosting Two Free Holiday Concerts

Peoria Arts will showcase festive holiday music this December at two free concerts at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts in Historic Downtown Peoria.

The AZ Swing Kings 20-piece orchestra will bring their big band sound and lively performance style to the Gyder Theater on Thursday, December 14, at 8 p.m.

On Friday, December 22, The Mistletones sing traditional and modern holiday musical selections, in four-part harmony a cappella, dressed in Victorian attire.
