Glastonbury Festival will for the first time see the creation of a dedicated South Asian performance space, created and built by a South Asian team.

Located in the longstanding Shangri-La Glastonbury area of the festival, curated and created by a team including Continental Drift’s Chris MacMeikan, Arrivals will be a new space delivered in collaboration with South Asian cultural organisations Dialled In, Going South and Daytimers.

The stage has been designed by Shankho Chaudhuri, Esha Sikander and Shirin Naveed, and will feature the work of illustrator Osheen Siva. SOMERSET, UK (CelebrityAccess) — Glastonbury announced plans to host its first stage dedicated to music and artists from South Asia for 2024.

The Arrivals venue, part of the Shangri-La area of Glastonbury, features a lineup that includes 4Resh, Almass Badat, Baalti, Dialled In Soundsystem, and De Silva, among others.

Shangri-La will also host takeovers across its stages from a mix of collectives including 20 Years of Risky Roadz, 25 Years of Defected Records, Back To Mine, Booty Bass, Earache Records, Joy (Anonymous) & Friends, London Trans+ Pride & The Chateau, Misscoteque, Pxssy Palace, Sista Selecta, Sportsbanger, SWANA Collective, Uncommon Records and Village Underground.

VCT Game Changers South Asia will feed directly into the new Pacific Game Changers event for next year. 

INDIA – VCT Game Changers is set to introduce a dedicated circuit for South Asia, according to Sukamal Pegu, the Esports Lead for India and South Asia at Riot Games, as revealed to THESPIKE.GG during the Convergence 2023 event in Bengaluru, India.

“Well, here’s an announcement for everybody. South Asia is getting its own Game Changers Circuit, and I think this is breaking news for everybody. Welcome, ladies, and every marginalized community that is out there for playing VALORANT we have the Game Changers’ League for South Asia that plays directly into the Pacific Game Changers event that’s going to happen at the end of the year, and that will lead to champions….

About 4,000 participants – including finance ministers, central bank governors, and government officials from Asian Development Bank member countries – will gather in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi for the 57th Annual Meeting of the institution next year under the theme “Bridge to the Future”.
