The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association Bradford chapter is hosting their annual Interfaith Conference on Saturday, June 3, 2023.

The event will take place in a private school facility, 4073 4th Line in Cookstown. The topic of this year’s conference is Empowerment of Women Through Their Faith.

Each year, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association brings forth a topic that can allow multi-faith speakers to highlight the similarities and differences of their faith in a harmonious and peaceful manner. The Bayou Preservation Association, a Houston-area nonprofit dedicated to the education and preservation of the region’s bayous, is holding its 19th annual symposium virtually Sept. 28-29.

The theme of the event, “The Cost of Doing Nothing—Opting for Resilience,” will focus on the building of “resilient, sustainable communities,” according to outreach and engagement manager for the BPA, Ryan Francisco.

Part of the two-day symposium will focus on an “action agenda,” covering the ways residents can become involved in regional resilience to climate-related changes to the bayous.
