Since late yesterday, a new phishing attack has targeted customers of MyHost and our sister company, SiteHost. The emails have SiteHost’s name and logo on them, and they attempt to trick you into giving away passwords and credit card information.

If you have received any emails from the fake address info@sitehost-service.com, or with the subject line “Note on service renewal”, they are not from us. Please mark them as spam or delete them, and block the sender if you can.

Phishing attacks like these contain official-looking links to fake websites. In this case, the scam website asks people for their login information and then their credit card details.

These attacks are likely to evolve over time, so we are asking everyone to be extra-cautious when it comes to your MyHost account…

​​A video shared on multiple accounts on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) claims to show Hamas firing rockets towards Ben Gurion International Airport, sometimes known as Tel Aviv Airport, in Israel. This is not true.

Some of the accounts sharing this video say that it shows Hamas firing rockets towards “Tel Aviv airport, Israel”. Other users have also claimed it shows Hamas firing at Israel, or have shared it with hashtags relating to Israel. The videos have been shared following conflict between Israel and Hamas over the weekend.

But this video was actually first shared online in February 2020 and allegedly shows a rocket attack in Syria.

Fans and netizens alike mourned the passing of Li Lin, with many commenting that the industry had lost a dear talent.

Li Lin previously shared in an interview that he had graduated from university with an English degree, and did not step into the broadcast industry immediately after graduation. Instead, he worked as a translator and dubbing artist for English movies, before moving on to become a singer, and later, a tour guide, before joining radio. 

He hosted a wide variety of radio programmes, from travel segments, to language-learning ones, where he shared English phrases and words with his audience.

Thousands of people have shared posts on Facebook falsely claiming that convicted child serial killer Lucy Letby has been “rushed to hospital” after being attacked in prison. 

The former neonatal nurse, Letby, was sentenced to 14 whole-life sentences on 21 August after she was convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill six other infants. 

Multiple posts, which have identical text, say: “BREAKING NEWS Baby killer Lucy Letby has been attacked in Prison. Reports suggest she’s been rushed to an outside hospital, in a critical condition after being slashed and boiled kettle water with sugar chucked in her face [sic].”

The story so far: On 16 February, an unauthorised third-party gained access to GoDaddy servers in its cPanel shared hosting environment, the company shared in a blog post. Attackers installed malware on servers causing intermittent redirection of customer websites to malicious sites leading to increased chances of successful phishing campaigns. Attackers also obtained pieces of code related to some services used by the company.
