Whisky Auctioneer to host world’s first ever auction dedicated to women in whisky 

Whisky Auctioneer, the leading global online whisky and spirits auction platform, will host the world’s first auction dedicated to women in whisky between March 29 and April 8. All proceeds from the auction will be donated directly to the OurWhisky Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting, recognising, and empowering women in whisky. 

“Historically, our industry has lacked diversity, and that’s something we’re determined to change,” said Joe Wilson, Head Curator and Spirits Specialist at Whisky Auctioneer.

“To that end, we have been delighted to witness the incredible achievements of the OurWhisky Foundation and are thrilled to host this auction and shine a spotlight on the stories of women within our industry.”

Sotheby’s Is Hosting Its First Auction and Exhibition Dedicated to Artist-Designed Jewelry

This weekend, Sotheby’s is set to open Art as Jewelry as Art, a first-of-its-kind online auction and exhibition in New York (September 24–October 4, 2022) featuring jewelry designed by 65 major artists of the 20th century and today. From gilded, birdlike Georges Braque brooches inspired by Greek mythology to Louise Nevelson’s sculptural pendants to a pair of 18-karat gold Salvador Dalí earrings in the form of melting telephones—and dripping with diamonds, emeralds, and rubies—the pieces are at once adornment and art.

Hunger to Hope hosting their 3rd annual auction and banquet

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – January 15th was the 3rd Annual Hunger to Hope silent auction and banquet for the Bridge Ministries Food Pantry.

They raised over $150 thousand dollars to continue their mission of feeding families and changing lives.

All of the proceeds will go towards a new building and programs that The Bridge Ministries are trying to launch.

They say that after Hunger to Hope, they hope to restart their health clinic and after school tutoring.

The Bridge Ministries has been dedicated to serving families in Brazos Valley since 2010. They serve 75 to100 families on a weekly basis by providing food, diapers, and essential household items and by sharing the love and support of someone who cares.

Bulli Bai: India’s Muslim women again listed on app for ‘auction’ | Islamophobia News

New Delhi, India – On January 1, Quratulain Rehbar, a journalist from Indian-administered Kashmir, woke up to see herself listed for an “online auction”. Her photograph was sourced without her permission and uploaded on an app for “sale”.

She was not alone.

Photographs of more than 100 Muslim women, including prominent actress Shabana Azami, wife of a sitting judge of Delhi High Court, multiple journalists, activists and politicians were displayed on the app for auction as “Bulli Bai” of the day.

Even Pakistani Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai was not spared by the perpetrators.

After last July’s “Sulli Deals“, in which nearly 80 Muslim women were put up “for sale”, “Bulli Bai” was the second such attempt in less than a year.
