Abbotsford author Grace Fox hosting book signing on Sept. 20

Abbotsford author Grace Fox has announced a book signing celebrating the release of her latest – Names of God: Living Unafraid.

The event occurs at House of James bookstore (2743 Emerson St.) on from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20.

Fox has now penned 14 books and stated that she wants to invite the community to join her for a special evening filled with stories, live music, book signing and refreshments.

“Names of God: Living Unafraid is a devotional study that examines seven of God’s Hebrew names and how they relate to our lives today,” she said in a press release. “God has shown us what he’s like through these names. In a world that’s scary, understanding who he is helps us live unafraid.”

Wickliffe Public Library hosting author talk with Genevieve Gornichec – News-Herald

Wickliffe Public Library, 1713 Lincoln Road, is hosting a Local Author Visit at 7 p.m., Sept. 18.

Genevieve Gornichec, graduate of Wickliffe High School and author of the best sellers “The Witch’s Heart” and “The Weaver and the Witch Queen,” will speak about her books, the writing process, and all things Viking related, according to a news release.

Mentor Public Library hosting online author talks in July

Families can enjoy free online author interviews with popular and award-winning juvenile and young-adult fiction writers this July, courtesy of Mentor Public Library.

The authors include:

• Kate DiCamillo at 2 p.m. July 9. DiCamillo is best known for her “Mercy Watson” and “Tales from Deckawoo Drive” series. She’s written more than 30 books — several of which have been turned into movies. One was even adapted into an opera. This program is designed with children in pre-kindergarten through second grade in mind. However, all ages may enjoy it, according to a news release.

• Max Brallier at 2 p.m. July 16. Brallier is the bestselling author of “The Last Kids on Earth” series. He’ll share how he came up with the different…

Morley Library hosting ‘Legends & Lore’ author – News-Herald

James Willis, author of the soon to be released book “Northern Ohio Legends & Lore” will be at Morley Library on Oct. 9 for a sneak peek at strange and spooky tales about pickled fingers, a wonder dog, Public Enemy #1, the Hinkley buzzards, a stop in Hell Town, and more.

This 6:30 p.m. program is free but register at www.morleylibrary.org or by calling 440-352-3383. The library is located at 184 Phelps St. in Painesville.

Willis has been chasing after all things strange and spooky for over 30 years, most recently with his organization, The Ghosts of Ohio, according to a news release. He also is the author of over a dozen books, including “The Big Book Of Ohio Ghost Stories,” “Haunted Indiana,” and “Weird Ohio.”
