Baltimore Orioles host first-ever ‘Faith Night,’ players share ‘what God has done’ 

The Baltimore Orioles, a Major League Baseball team, hosted its first-ever “Faith Night” on Aug. 13. Six players — including starting pitcher Trevor Rogers and All-Star shortstop Gunnar Henderson — shared their testimonies of faith to thousands of fans after their game against the Washington Nationals.

The event included a time of worship and praise with a live performance by Reach Worship, a group from Reach Church, a nondenominational church in Newark, Delaware.

Biden breaks unofficial rule about headwear while hosting the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs – Baltimore Sun

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden welcomed the Kansas City Chiefs to the White House on Friday, lauding the back-to-back Super Bowl champion team for its sportsmanship on and off the field, and breaking an unofficial political rule about headwear. He tried on a Chiefs helmet the team gave him as a gift.

“It was cool to see him put the helmet on,” quarterback Patrick Mahomes told reporters after the celebration on the South Lawn. “We didn’t expect that.”

Coach Andy Reid speculated that Biden might have been the first president to wear an NFL helmet.

“You all witnessed it. It’s history being made,” said Reid, who appeared with Mahomes.

Baltimore ‘unlikely’ to host 2026 NFL Draft; don’t rule out future drafts, though

After 50 years of New York City hosting the NFL Draft, the NFL broadened the location to various NFL cities in 2015. In that time, the draft has been moved around from Chicago, Philadelphia and Nashville to Detroit hosting the event next week. The Ravens, namely Team President Sashi Brown, have recently shared their desire to host the prestigious event; sadly, Ravens fans will have to wait to rock the house.

In a virtual interview with WMAR-2’s Shawn Stepner, NFL Executive VP of club business, international & league events Peter O’Reilly said it’s “unlikely” the Ravens will host the 2026 NFL Draft.

Baltimore bridge collapse not depicted in 2023 Netflix film

A claim being shared widely on social media that a 2023 Netflix film produced by the Obamas includes a shot of the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore is false.

An image is circulating with the claim on Facebook, allegedly from the film Leave the World Behind, showing a figure sat on a bed looking through a window at the ruins of the bridge.

One post, shared 500 times, says: “For those of you that don’t know…. The Francis Scott Key bridge is the same bridge that was shown in the Netflix movie “Leave the World Behind”. The production company is owned by the Obamas.”

Footage does not show escalating tension between US and China near Baltimore bridge

Footage from a video game has been circulating online with the suggestion it shows conflict between China and the US near a Baltimore bridge following the recent Francis Scott Key bridge collapse

The footage shows a series of shots being exchanged between a plane flying through a dark sky and a source on the ground. The plane is shot down at the end of the clip.
