The Sports Consultancy helps Volleyball World with bids

Volleyball World has launched its bidding process to select the host city for the FIVB Men’s World Championship and FIVB Women’s World Championship in 2025 and 2027. The organisation will be supported by The Sports Consultancy, which will help to run the structured bidding process.

Volleyball is the fourth most popular sport globally, with more than 800 million fans and high participation across the world. In the US for example, it is one of the only sports currently not seeing a decline in school participation – alongside golf – while a study from Research Reports Global suggests that the global volleyball market could grow from $294.9 million in 2021 to $440.6 million by 2027.

FIFA postpones 2030 World Cup hosts decision amid bids uncertainty

The selection of the hosts for the men’s 2030 FIFA World Cup has been postponed, as FIFA member federations failed to reach a consensus on bid campaign regulations and the final voting date.

Initially slated for a meeting in September of next year, the crucial vote by approximately 200 FIFA member federations has now been rescheduled for the last quarter of 2024.

FIFA has expressed its intention to finalize bid rules during a council meeting before the end of October, followed by the official launch of the bidding process.

In outlining the basic requirements for the 48-team, 104-game tournament, FIFA emphasized the need for 14 stadiums, of which only seven may be newly constructed.
