President Joe Biden is bringing brunch and Black excellence to the White House.

According to reports, Biden is set to host a “Brunch in Celebration of Black Excellence” on the South Lawn at the White House. The first-of-its-kind event is dedicated to the Black community’s extensive contributions to American culture and history.

Netflix Teases Stranger Things, Squid Game 2, Black Mirror and More for Geeked Week

It’s time for fans to fly their geek flags for Netflix‘s upcoming fourth annual Geeked Week, which runs during the week of Sept. 16 and wraps with an in-person event on Sept. 19 in Atlanta. The streaming service released a new trailer on Tuesday that spotlights some of its hottest properties, including Squid Game, One Piece, Stranger Things, K-drama Hellbound and Black Mirror. 

Billed as a fandom celebration, this year’s lineup includes first looks at a new season of Arcane, plus peeks at video games like Rebel Moon and Monument Valley. But the streamer shared that fans can also expect more surprises for titles such as “Avatar: The Last Airbender, Don’t Move, Wednesday, Cobra Kai, Monument Valley 3, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Devil May Cry and more.”

Fearless Brown Girls hosting 'CLT Gives Black with Give 8/28 Day' – MSN

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Fearless Brown Girls, a nonprofit aimed to empower the next generation “to break barriers, shatter ceilings, and create brighter financial futures,” is hosting “Give 8/28 Day” on Wednesday.

August 28 marks a significant date in Black history, as several pivotal events occurred across generations on the same date.

In light of the upcoming day, the New Generation of African American Philanthropists (NGAAP) created “CLT Gives Black” to advocate for racial funding equity in the Charlotte community.

Nigel Farage’s comments on ‘the black community’ taken out of context – Full Fact

A video of Reform UK leader and Clacton MP Nigel Farage has been shared on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, claiming Mr Farage “says he will do nothing for the black community”. But this clip is missing important context. 

In the clip, Mr Farage says: “What was I going to do for the black community? Do you know what I said? ‘Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I couldn’t give a damn’.”

The video being shared online cuts Mr Farage off mid-sentence, whereas, in the full video, he actually says “I couldn’t give a damn whether you’re black or white”.

This clip comes from a video posted on YouTube by Canadian academic Jordan Peterson, who interviewed Mr Farage on 2 July 2024. The full interview lasts for around 50 minutes.

Video of vehicle driving ‘through crowd of Palestine protesters’ actually from 2020 Black Lives Matter march

Warning: links in this article contain potentially upsetting footage.

A video falsely purporting to show a large car driving at pro-Palestinian protesters in California has been circulating on social media.

Posts on Facebook and what is now X (formerly Twitter) share a clip of a red vehicle towing a large trailer driving through a crowd of protestors.

One caption with the video shared on Facebook on 14 December states: “A truck cuts through a crowd of Palestinian protesters blocking a freeway in Los Angeles.”

A protest did take place in Los Angeles, California on 13 December, where people blocked a freeway and called for a ceasefire in Gaza. But the video being shared is unrelated to that event or the current Israel-Gaza conflict.
