British Airways, BBC and Boots Staff Hit By Russia-Linked Cyber-Hack

It has been reported that tens of thousands of British Airways, BBC and Boots staff may have had their personal details stolen following a suspected Russia-linked cyber attack. BA has written to many of its 34,000-strong workforce warning them of a “cyber security incident which has led to the disclosure of personal information about colleagues paid through British Airways’ payroll in the UK and Ireland”.

An email to BA staff – seen by the Telegraph – warns that the compromised information includes names, addresses, national insurance numbers, banking details and other information. The hack is linked to BA’s payroll provider, Zellis, and other companies that work with the company have also had their information stolen.

AUSTIN, Texas — Web hosting company GoDaddy has removed a site set up by Texas Right to Life for users to submit anonymous tips about when the new Texas abortion law is being violated.

The Texas Right to Life group will have to find a new hosting provider for its website that encourages people to report violations of the state’s restrictive new anti-abortion law.

GoDaddy took action after Gizmodo reported that Texas Right to Life’s new website, prolifewhistleblower.com, seems to violate a GoDaddy rule that says website operators may not “collect or harvest (or permit anyone else to collect or harvest) any User Content or any non-public or personally identifiable information about another user or any other person or entity without their express prior written consent.” GoDaddy’s terms of service also say that customers cannot use the…

Amazon boots Parler off web hosting service

Editor’s Note: Video from the Capitol riots last week.

(AP) – President Donald Trump has been kicked off of most mainstream social media platforms following his supporters’ siege on the U.S. Capitol. But it remains to be seen how fast or where — if anywhere — on the internet he will be able to reach his followers.

The far right-friendly Parler had been the leading candidate, at least until Google and Apple removed it from their app stores and Amazon booted it off its web hosting service just after midnight Pacific time early Monday.

Parler’s CEO said that could knock it offline for a week, though that might prove optimistic. And even if it finds a friendlier web-hosting service,…

Amazon Boots Parler from web hosting service as Google, Apple pull app from stores.

Parler has been enjoying a boost in popularity as President Donald Trump’s supporters have been joining the social network in droves after the commander in chief was kicked off several sites, including Twitter and Facebook. But now Parler could disappear, at least temporarily. Amazon notified Parler that it would kick the company out of its web-hosting service on Sunday night following repeated violations of its rules. The move came shortly after both Apple and Google removed the app from their app stores, also claiming the social network wasn’t doing enough to moderate content from its users..

The suspension that causes the biggest immediate threat to Parler is Amazon’s, as Parler could suddenly go offline if it isn’t able to find a new hosting service….
