Fake BBC report claims Ukrainian businessmen donated to Trump campaign – Full Fact

A video purporting to be a BBC news report about Ukrainian businessmen making donations to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is fake.

It has been shared on X (formerly Twitter), and also on Facebook. The video claims that “three of Ukraine’s richest businessmen have donated $8m to Donald Trump’s election campaign”.

Text within the video, which features a BBC watermark, also claims the report has been produced with investigative journalism organisation Bellingcat

Shady websites calling for a boycott of Qatar, a New York City billboard targeting the Gulf state’s rulers, and a Vietnamese outfit floating hundreds of slander-ridden Facebook ads — all elements of a sprawling influence operation vilifying the country as it mediates between Israel and Hamas.

The murky operation, which began late last year and spans multiple countries, is the largest ever to target the wealthy emirate, disinformation researchers say, as the nine-month war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group rages on.

Trump Campaign Slams Claims That Barbershop Owner Was Misled To Host Event

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign team has responded after an Atlanta man claimed he was misled into hosting one of their events at his barbershop.

“I feel like I have been betrayed,” Jones said.

Wednesday’s (June 26) event, titled “Black American Business Leaders Barbershop Roundtable,” garnered national attention ahead of the first presidential debate of 2024 at CNN Studios in Atlanta.

“I honestly didn’t think about it. It…

“Stop Killing Games” is a new campaign to prevent publishers from taking their titles offline

What just happened? A popular YouTuber has launched a campaign called “Stop Killing Games” to apply pressure on publishers to stop making their titles unplayable. The move comes days after Ubisoft shut down the servers of popular racer The Crew, rendering it inoperable for gamers everywhere.

The campaign was launched by YouTuber Ross Scott of Accursed Farms in an effort to highlight how developers and publishers are intentionally designing games to become unplayable as soon as support ends. According to the Stop Killing Games website, the practice lies in a legal gray area, largely because most governments do not have clear laws regarding this issue.

The campaign’s goal is to convince authorities to examine the legality of this practice and, hopefully, pass legislation to end as it…
