Four dead in Tipperary after car overturned while on the way to Leaving Cert party

FOUR PEOPLE have died following a single car collision in County Tipperary.

A male in his 20s and three teenage girls, who are thought to have received their Leaving Certificate results yesterday, were pronounced dead at the scene outside Clonmel, Tipperary.

The single car collision happened shortly after 7:30pm on the evening of Friday, August 25. It is thought that the driver, the male, ‘lost control’ of the vehicle which overturned. 

Mountain Road, where the fatal collision occurred, remains closed to traffic and local diversions are in place. The bodies of the deceased have been removed from the scene to South Tipperary General Hospital and post-mortem examinations will be conducted in the coming days.

Police don’t advise smashing car windows to rescue dogs in hot weather

Claims that “police say” you can smash a window to rescue a dog from a hot car after taking a photograph and waiting five minutes have been shared almost 180,000 times on Facebook

The posts, which encourage others to copy and paste the content in order to share it more widely, say: “Police say if you see a dog locked in a car in case of high heat, take a picture of the dog and the car, call the police, wait 5 minutes and break the car window. 

“This way you will not be charged with criminal damage and will give evidence to the police to take the dog owners to court.”

But this isn’t true. The National Police Chiefs’ Council told Full Fact that the information shared online is “not accurate”.

Tesla Employees Shared Video Captured From Customers’ Car Cameras

Tesla employees shared sensitive videos and images recorded by customers’ car cameras, a Reuters investigation(Opens in a new window) finds. 

Content recorded by built-in cameras used to assist driving was routinely shared between employees via an internal messaging system between 2019 and 2022, the reports says.

As Reuters notes, some of the shared content shows people in compromising situations: one video, for example, shows a man approaching a Tesla completely naked. Others include footage from car crashes and road rage incidents.
