Missoula Child Care Advantage hosting open house

MISSOULA — An opportunity for anyone in Missoula seeking childcare options is happening at 6 p.m. on June 13, 2024.

As childcare is becoming increasingly harder to find and more expensive, The Missoula Child Care Advantage (MCCA) is hosting an open house.

CEO of United Way of Missoula, Susan Hay Patrick told MTN, “The traditional child care model in our country and community is broken, it costs too much to provide a service that too few people can afford and there’s not enough of it and there’s a lot of turnover because it pays so poorly and that affects quality.”

County hosting meeting tonight about child care and how to advocate for more

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The County of Wellington is hosting a public information session about all things child care, including how it is lacking locally.

On Monday evening, social services’ children’s early years division will hold a meeting at Aboyne Hall for those who want to learn about the state of local licensed child care, the county’s role as the service system manager for child care, how it is funded and the roll out of $10 per day child care.

Sandusky City Commission hosting ‘Fill the Bin’ donation drive Dec. 9 for Care and Share

The city of Sandusky City Commission will host its annual “Fill the Bin” donation drive at Care & Share of Erie County from 10 a.m. to noon, Dec. 9, at 241 Jackson St. in Sandusky, according to a news release.

“Care & Share has been serving the needs of hundreds of our residents every month for years now,” said City Commission President Dick Brady in the release. “We tend to focus on gifting around the holidays, when in reality the need never takes a holiday.

“The most effective gift is money as Care & Share has the ability to stretch every dollar to benefit those in need.”
