Students need host families

Central Okanagan Public Schools is searching for families who have an extra bedroom in their home and some extra room in their hearts for sharing Canadian culture with international students.

The District’s International Education program will carefully match students with families that can provide a welcoming home and who will enjoy the mutual benefit that comes with hosting students.

“Our homestay program is internationally recognized because we run it ourselves, so we offer great support for both the students and the families who choose to open their home,” said Raquel Steen, Assistant Superintendent.

Turkmenistan To Host Forum Dedicated To-Op Between Central Asia And South Korea

capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, will host the 16th meeting of
the Central Asia–Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum in November
2023, Trend reports.

This was announced following the meeting of the President of
Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the leader of the Republic
of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol in New York.

During the meeting, the sides noted that the Turkmen-Korean
relations and mutually beneficial partnership are developing

Town Clock Church hosting dedication for central gasolier | News

NEW ALBANY — The beautiful central gasolier in the Town Clock Church will be dedicated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church at 300 E. Main St. in New Albany.

All are welcome to share in the event. Parking is available in the lot across from the church at Third and Main Street.

When the church was dedicated on July 30, 1852 after three years of construction, the main sanctuary had five brass gasoliers, made possible by the newly gasified city. Rapid Needs Assessment (RNA) of IDP-hosting areas Central oblasts, Ukraine, April 2022 – Ukraine

Context and Methodology

Since the military escalation in February 2022, over 7.14 million people have been displaced internally throughout Ukraine. At the request of the Inter-Cluster Coordination Group (ICCG), a Rapid Needs Assessment (RNA) was launched with the support of REACH in order to inform humanitarian actors responding to the displacement crisis.

Data was collected through 102 structured phone interviews with NGO and local authority key informants (KIs) in 39 settlements of central oblasts between March 23 to April 05. In addition, three qualitative inidividual interviews were conducted with KIs working in oblast centers (Vinnytsia, Cherkasy and Kropyvnytsky city).
