Sian Welby brands her This Morning hosting debut ‘the best week of my life’ but jokes there was ‘no chance to wee’ – as show bosses brand her ‘the next Holly Willoughby’

Sian Welby has shared an insight into her recent This Morning debut, branding it the ‘best week of her life’.

The Capital Breakfast presenter, 37, joined Dermot O’Leary to co-host the ITV show amid claims smitten bosses had declared her the ‘next Holly Willoughby’.

Sian was quizzed about the four-day stint by colleague Roman Kemp, 31, on Wednesday as she returned to her regular job on the radio.  

Telling listeners: ‘Honestly, probably the best week of my life! I was on This Morning, I can’t believe they sort of gave me the reins to co-host with Dermot O’Leary who I’ve been watching for most of my life, X Factor, Big Brother, he’s a legend,’ 

‘So for me it was quite nerve wracking because you’re stepping into a show that everyone knows and loves and has their favourites’.

The Under-17 World Cup gives Indonesia a second chance at hosting a global soccer event

Indonesia’s unexpected second chance of hosting a global soccer tournament gets underway Friday when the Under-17 World Cup kicks off in Surabaya.

The soccer-loving nation of almost 280 million is determined to put on its best show, on and off the field, just months after it was stripped of the Under-20 World Cup hosting rights amid political turmoil over Israel’s participation.

Soccer’s international governing body took the drastic action in March, just eight weeks before the Under-20 tournament was scheduled to start, and Indonesian sports leaders feared long-term sanctions.

That event was shifted to Argentina at short notice, with Uruguay beating Italy in the final in June, and Israel placing third.
