Simsbury-Based Pediatric Cancer Charity To Host Major Event In Avon

SIMSBURY/AVON, CT — A Simsbury-based charity dedicated to fighting pediatric cancer is having a special event in Avon next week.

Vie for the Kids, an all-volunteer charity working to improve pediatric cancer treatment options and outcomes, is hosting the second annual Gold Ribbon Dinner on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Golf Club of Avon, 160 Country Club Road, Avon.

More than 100 guests attended last year’s event, and raised $10,000, which went directly to where it is needed the most–the pediatric oncology clinic at Connecticut Children’s in Hartford.

Since 2007, Vie for the Kids has organized and hosted a variety of fundraising events across the
Farmington Valley and it has raised over $1 million.

High Sheriff hosting show about murdering medics – all in the name of charity

The High Sheriff of Worcestershire is presenting Dial Medicine for Murder to give audience members in a border town venue the chance to find out about two notoriously murderous medical doctors.

Dr Harold Shipman is considered to be one of the most prolific serial killers in modern history, with an estimated 250 victims.

Dr John Bodkin Adams was a British general practitioner, convicted fraudster, and suspected serial killer.

Now the lives of the gruesome pair has been turned into a show presented by Dr Harry Brünjes and Dr Andrew Johns.

They will be delving into the lives and crimes of Britain’s notorious physicians all in aid of Life Chances in a show at the Regal, Tenbury Wells, which is just over Shropshire’s southern border.

No evidence PM’s wife benefits from £54m grant to Jewish security charity

A video being widely shared online claims that Rishi Sunak’s wife will benefit from money from the government to protect Jewish sites in the UK. But Full Fact can find no evidence that this claim is true. The original video was deleted after we got in touch.

The video was originally uploaded to TikTok on 29 February and has since been shared by different accounts on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), and over 10,000 times on Facebook, with text versions of the claim also being shared on the platform.

Pro-Iranian Islamic Charity in UK Under Investigation for Hosting Antisemitic Events Featuring IRGC Commanders

An Islamic charity in Britain is under investigation after videos emerged of Iranian generals delivering antisemitic speeches to audiences at its premises in west London.

The videos were unearthed by United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), a US-based research and advocacy group, and shared with the BBC, which verified their authenticity.

According to the BBC’s reporting, one video described an “apocalyptic war on Jews” while a second contained Holocaust denial.

The footage – which also includes a denial of the Holocaust – adds to growing concerns from some parliamentarians that the Iranian regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is…
