Kapuso leading man Alden Richards will host the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines coronation show, marking his second straight year in the national competition.

“Thank you, Universe! [Starry heart emoji] ALDEN RICHARDS is back to host The Coronation of Miss Universe Philippines 2024! Watch the finals on May 22, 2024 at the SM MOA Arena,” the national pageant organization posted on social media on Wednesday, May 1.

Last year, he shared hosting chores with another Kapuso actor, Xian Lim, with 2019 Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi as special host.

Photos of Prince Harry and Prince William together at the coronation are AI-generated

A video circulating on Facebook appears to show photographs of Prince Harry and William embracing at King Charles III’s coronation.

But the photos are not real, and were created using artificial intelligence (AI) tools. 

The video, which has more than 2,700 shares and 78,000 likes, shows a slideshow of eight photos where the royals can be seen embracing and speaking in various different locations supposedly throughout the celebrations.

Overlaid text says: “Prince Harry and Prince williams meets again!! at King Charles Coronation[sic].”

However, the photos were generated by AI and were published before 6 May when the coronation took place

Sand was not used to fill potholes along the coronation procession route

Thousands of people have shared claims on social media that sand was used to fill potholes on the procession route for King Charles’ coronation. But this is not true.

Some of the claims we’ve seen circulating include what appears to be a screenshot of a since-deleted tweet, which has been shared by thousands of users on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. It shows an aerial image of the procession in central London on 6 May with multiple patches of sand on the road surface. 

The text says: “Something very poetic about a king in a golden coach being driven over a load of potholes filled with wet sand because no one in his country has the money to fix the roads properly.” 

Others have made similar claims using slightly different images or no images at all
