SANTA CRUZ — From Scotts Valley to Watsonville and everywhere in between, it is well-known that Santa Cruz County is an artist haven. That goes not just for visual artists and musicians but writers and poets as well, all coming from different walks of life with different stories to share.
There are enough writers of color throughout Santa Cruz County that an organization was formed in 2021 appropriately called Writers of Color Santa Cruz County to amplify writers of color and allow for opportunities to share their work. One avenue for the past three years has been poetry readings at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History. That tradition will continue Oct. 10 when 17 local poets will read and showcase their work.
