GREENVILLE, OH (3-18-24) — Shared Harvest Foodbank, in partnership with OSU Extension, Darke County, and Darke County United Way, will once again host a “drive-thru” food distribution at Radiant Lighthouse on Wednesday, March 27th from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 Shared Harvest is preparing hundreds of boxes to be distributed to Darke County residents for this hands-free food distribution. A family receiving food will provide verbal self-attestation for income, while providing a photo ID and a piece of mail to verify residency. WELLINGTON COUNTY – The County of Wellington is hosting a public information session about all things child care, including how it is lacking locally.

On Monday evening, social services’ children’s early years division will hold a meeting at Aboyne Hall for those who want to learn about the state of local licensed child care, the county’s role as the service system manager for child care, how it is funded and the roll out of $10 per day child care.

Farm Share to host food distribution Saturday in Bradford County

MELROSE, Fla. – Farm Share, Florida’s largest food bank, will host a drive-thru food distribution on Saturday in Bradford County.

The nonprofit will give fresh produce and non-perishable goods to people in need on SE 8th Avenue in Melrose.

Attendees must arrive in a car with a trunk or cargo bed as this event is drive-thru only, according to Farm Share.

Concerned Citizens of Logan County hosting free Christmas Giveaways

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) – Concerned Citizens of Logan County is a council of local citizens dedicated to enhancing the quality of living for all citizens in Russellville and Logan County.

This month, the organization will be hosting three events aimed at helping families that may be struggling with finances this time of the year.

On Dec. 7, the organization will be hosting a Senior Citizen giveaway at its main location in Russellville. Community members over 65 years old can stop by KP Hall, located at 428 East 5th St., and receive one bag of items per household starting at 10 a.m.

County, town hosting forums focused on supporting unhoused people

Sessions for service providers, public taking place Oct. 19 at North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre

The County of Simcoe and the Town of Midland are hosting forums for service providers and residents with a focus on supporting people who are unhoused.

The forums will take place Oct. 19 at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre, 527 Len Self Blvd., Midland. The goal is “to foster and share ideas, tools, and resources with the purpose of uniting residents in building up a brighter future for unhoused individuals,” according to a news release.

The first forum is for local service providers. It will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free, but registration is required. Registration can be completed here.
