PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs will be hosting a State Bridge Dedication Ceremony next month to honor U.S. Army Private Frederic Schroeder.

The ceremony will be Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. (CT) at the Madison City Armory (198 VanEps Avenue N) in Madison. 

The Big Sioux River Bridge on SD HWY 34, one mile east of Egan, will be dedicated to PVT Schroeder.

The ceremony will be Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. (CT) at the McCook Central High School in Salem (200 E. Essex Avenue).

The ceremony will be Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. (CT) at the Hanson High School Gymnasium in Alexandria (600 Juniper Street).

The ceremony will be held Monday, August 23, 2021, at 2:00 pm (CT) at the Kortan Hatwan American Legion Post 183 in Tabor (330 W. Yankton Street).

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs will be hosting a State Bridge Dedication Ceremony to honor Army Combat Veteran Private Bruce Ruby.

The ceremony will be held Monday, August 30, 2021, at 10:30 am (CT) at the Scherr Howe Event Center in Mobridge (212 Main Street).

The South Dakota HWY 12 Bridge over the Missouri River will be dedicated to PVT Ruby.

Ruby, of Ipswich, was killed in action in France on November 9, 1944.
