I’ve been in nearly all of those positions – from starting with a reseller account to HostGator, to leasing servers from Softlayer [before they were IBM], to owning and colocating our own hardware and network in a facility.

What I can say is that the only time I ever had issues making promises about the quality of the service and the support – was when we were on a reseller plan. That’s why we actually moved from a reseller to our own leased servers.
