4th annual DCPS ‘Umbrella Project’ dedicated to supporting mental health in education

Daviess County Public Schools on Tuesday is hosting “The Umbrella Project: Inspiring Minds, Building Hope Summit,” with a goal of providing intensive and practical strategies and support for those who work with children experiencing a variety of barriers to learning and success. 

After hosting the inaugural summit in 2021, the district team recognized the impact this professional learning day could have as an annual event. Last year’s event drew a crowd of more than 600 participants who attended the day to focus on learning strategies and resource knowledge to help students and families.

SD Bridge to be Dedicated in Honor of U.S. Army Sergeant Terry G. Rada

LAKE GEDDES, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW)  The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs will be hosting a State Bridge Dedication Ceremony to honor U.S. Army Sergeant Terry G. Rada.

The ceremony will be Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 12:00 noon (CT) at the Multi-Purpose Center in Geddes (409 Michigan Avenue).

The SD50 bridge over Pease Creek, east of Lake Geddes, will be dedicated as the SGT Terry G. Rada Bridge.

Terry was killed in action by enemy grenade June 9, 1969, in South Vietnam, Quang Tin province.

Bridge near Geddes to be dedicated to fallen soldier

PIERRE — The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs will be hosting a State Bridge Dedication Ceremony to honor U.S. Army Sgt. Terry G. Rada.

The ceremony will be Aug. 10 at noon at the Multi-Purpose Center in Geddes, 409 Michigan Ave.

The state Highway 50 bridge over Pease Creek, east of Lake Geddes, will be dedicated as the Sgt. Terry G. Rada Bridge.
