SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – A visual way to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. will be unveiled Saturday in Savannah.

A bronze monument and a park will officially be dedicated to Dr. King on Saturday at 2 p.m. on the Savannah riverfront at the Plant Riverside District.

The bust was approved by the King family and will be the first monument to honor the late Dr. King in the City of Savannah.

The sister-in-law of Dr. King, Dr. Naomi King will be at the unveiling at 2 p.m. and following that will be in attendance of a showing of a documentary Rev. A.D. King Brother to the Dreamer at the Savannah Civic Center. The event is open to the public but due to social distancing they can only have 100 people so you must pre-register.

Ceremony for 400 Square Foot Mural Set for Dec. 4 at Genesis Senior Veterans Community

EL CAJON, Calif., Dec. 3, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — MFRG-ICON Construction, a leader in affordable housing renovations, is hosting a mural dedication ceremony at one of its recent renovation projects, Genesis Senior Veterans community, on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 1 p.m.

The Genesis Senior Veterans community, located at 735 El Cajon Blvd., recently underwent a sizeable renovation including upgrades to common areas, laundry room, and community space. Improvements to their exterior included replacing the roof, updates to the electrical system, new concrete, and landscaped pathways. KANKAKEE — St. Rose of Lima Chapel has been developing an outdoor prayer garden on the west side of the church thanks to the individuals behind St. Rose Chapel Association.

The association meets monthly in order to make decisions — including indoor and outdoor beautification — for the church. Following the 6 p.m. Mass on Friday, Aug. 27, the association will be hosting a dedication ceremony for the prayer garden.

In addition to landscaping from Tholens’ Landscape & Garden Center — and work from architect Jeff Jarvis — the garden includes a cross-shaped brick walkway that is designed with personalized brick pavers.
