Noel Fielding has confessed it was a ‘bit weird’ hosting the Great British Bake Off with Matt Lucas.

The Mighty Boosh star, 50, joined the beloved programme in 2017, and initially presented alongside Sandi Toksvig before the Little Britain actor, 49, replaced her three years later.

In December, Matt announced he was quitting GBBO because he was finding it difficult balancing multiple commitments, including the show, with Alison Hammond later revealed as Noel’s new co-host.

Reflecting on his two-year stint with Matt, the comedian said it was a ‘bit weird’ because they were friends and ‘probably the same low-status person from our respective double acts.’
