Disney Plus subscribers in the US will pay a little extra to share their streaming accounts. The Walt Disney Company plans to enforce its new account-sharing policies by implementing a $7 monthly fee for customers on the Disney Plus basic, ad-supported plan and a $10-a-month charge for those with premium subscriptions. The company shared the announcement on its website Wednesday.

Beginning this week, the service will charge an additional fee each month for subscribers in the US, Canada, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Europe and in the Asia-Pacific area who want to share their account with anyone outside of their household. After launching Hulu on Disney Plus in March for US subscribers, the ESPN hub addition is landing on the streaming service in December, the company shared in its third-quarter executive summary on Wednesday. CEO Bob Iger initially announced the news about adding ESPN content to Disney Plus during Walt Disney Co.’s second-quarter earnings call in May.

“By the end of this calendar year, we will be adding an ESPN tile to Disney Plus, giving all US subscribers access to select live games and studio programming within the Disney Plus app,” Iger said. “We see this as a first step to bringing ESPN to Disney Plus viewers, as we ready the launch of our enhanced standalone ESPN streaming service in the fall of 2025.”

Warner Bros. Discovery and Disney launched their new combined streaming service bundle on Thursday, which packages Disney Plus, Hulu and Max together for US customers. According to a press release, eligible new or existing subscribers can choose to sign up for an ad-free or ad-supported plan through any of the three platforms. The companies first announced the bundle in May and shared that it would be available this summer. 

The ad-based bundle costs $17 per month, while the ad-free version is $30 a month, and each subscription grants access to content from brands such as HBO, ABC, Hulu, FX, Marvel, Disney, Warner Bros., Pixar and Fox. Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery are already teaming up for a sports streaming joint venture, now the two companies have announced that they will be working together on a streaming bundle of Disney Plus, Hulu and Max for the US that is coming this summer. 

The new bundle doesn’t yet have a price or an exact release date. The companies say that it will be available to purchase on any of the three streaming platforms’ respective websites and users can choose from ad-supported or ad-free options.

When bundled together the companies tout that users will be able to access content from a host of brands including “ABC, CNN, DC, Discovery, Disney, Food Network, FX, HBO, HGTV, Hulu, Marvel, Pixar, Searchlight and Warner Bros.”

A FORMER GB News host who has set up a crowdfunding page to “keep a roof over his head” is enjoying a holiday at Disney World in the US. 

Calvin Robinson was fired from the conspiracy-laden broadcaster last week after stepping into a row over misogynistic comments made by Laurence Fox.

Fox – appearing on the Dan Wootton Show – had called journalist Ava Evans a “little woman” and asked: “Who would want to shag that?”

Wootton, Fox, and then Robinson were suspended amid the outrage. Fox and Robinson were both fired soon after – while an internal probe into Wootton is ongoing.
