Experiences of addiction and recovery to be shared at special Donegal event

Personal experiences of addiction and recovery are to be shared at a special event  in Donegal to mark  recovery month.

Donegal-based Alcohol Forum Ireland is hosting the event on Friday at the Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny which it describes as “a diverse and inclusive celebration of recovery”.

Recover Month is aimed at celebrating the gains made by all those in recovery from addiction.

Up to 100 people are booked to attend the event, including members of the Traveller, African, Palestinian and Polish communities in Donegal.

92% Positive Experience for People Hosting Ukrainians in Donegal

There are 1521 Ukrainian guests living with 602 hosts in Donegal. This figure represents 20% of the total number of Ukrainians who have arrived in the county since the invasion of Ukraine.

Nationally, 25% of all arrivals from Ukraine are currently living in host homes or are pledged accommodation.

Garda probe rally crash as Donegal Motor Club plea for footage not to be shared

A request has been made not to share footage on social media of a crash that took place on Saturday at a Harvest Rally event in Donegal, which left two people with serious injuries.

An Garda Siochana say investigations are ongoing after two spectators were hospitalised after being struck by a competing car whilst watching the Harvest Rally. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene in Falcarragh, on Saturday at approximately 12:30pm.

“The individuals, both men aged in their 60s and 40s, were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be serious,” An Garda Siochana told DonegalLive. “No other injuries have been reported. Investigations are ongoing.”
