Phoenix Rescue Mission hosting Easter Giveaway Event March 23

To make the event a success, Phoenix Rescue Mission needs the community’s help right now in donating the baskets.

Easter is right around the corner but for many families, celebrations are not possible due to food and financial insecurities. Because of this, Phoenix Rescue Mission is hosting an Easter Giveaway Event on March 23, during which nearly 500 families will receive 1,700 Easter baskets, hygiene kits, cleaning supplies and more.

To make the event a success, Phoenix Rescue Mission needs the community’s help right now in donating the baskets. Donated baskets should include:

  • Easter grass
  • Candy (no chocolate)
  • Candy-filled plastic eggs
  • Children’s books and Bibles
  • Coloring books & crayons
  • Small stuffed animals
  • Small toys

NFL Combine could be leaving Indy in 2026 after 37 years of hosting the event

INDIANAPOLIS — No one hosts the modern NFL Combine better than Indianapolis considering they are the only city to host it since 1987.

“It’s a sense of pride to have the NFL back here in our city for the Combine,” shared Visit Indy Executive Vice President Chris Gahl.

For 37 years, Indianapolis has been a prime host.

“It’s our connectivity and walkability,” explained Gahl. “It’s the idea that no matter the weather, you stay in hotels that are connected through climate controlled skywalks into our convention center into the stadium. That walkability is unprecedented in any other city in the nation.”

As the NFL continues to grow, other cities have expressed interest in hosting the Combine and making the event rotating like the Super Bowl or Draft.

Yoruba ‘Wikimedians’ host first storytelling event in Nigeria

In a bid to foster free access to knowledge in the Yoruba language, the Yoruba Wikimedians User Group, an affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation dedicated to hosting Wikipedia, has initiated Nigeria’s inaugural storytelling event.

The initiative forms a crucial component of their Yoruba Oral Traditions project, aimed at cataloging and conserving Yoruba oral heritage.
