Will US law banning TikTok prevail on secret government evidence?

On July 28, the director of Columbia University’s Knight First Amendment Institute posted a US Justice Department document on social media related to TikTok’s legal challenge against the company’s potential ban in the United States.
“The Biden admin has finally told the DC Circuit why Americans can’t have access to TikTok,” wrote Jameel Jaffer, on X, formerly Twitter.

The post comprised a page from a brief submitted to the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, entirely obscured by black marking and unreadable.

In a subsequent post, Jaffer quipped: “To be fair, not all of the brief is redacted. But the parts that aren’t redacted are no more persuasive than the parts that are.”

The disclosure came months after the US Congress and President Joe Biden

No evidence comments on Islam and Ukraine attributed to Donald Trump are real – Full Fact

Posts on social media which attribute comments about Islam and Ukraine to Donald Trump and imply he made them in his Republican National Convention speech are false.

The claim appears on several platforms, including on X (formerly Twitter), where it has been shared over 8,200 times, and Facebook—together with a nearly four minute video clip of the presidential candidate making a speech. In some examples the posts include a picture of Mr Trump rather than the video.

They include a supposed quote from Mr Trump, saying: “I will not tolerate Islamic Terrorism at any cost. The Russia Ukraine war is not a real issue.

“Islamic Terrorism is the real issue which is spreading like a cancer all over the world today.” Some of these also add at the end: “~ Donald…

No evidence PM was verbally abused while out jogging

A video clip posted to Facebook claims to capture Prime Minister Rishi Sunak being verbally abused while out jogging.

It shows Mr Sunak on an early morning jog through Westminster with Russ Cook, also known as The Hardest Geezer, who recently completed running the full length of Africa.

As the pair cross a street on their way towards Buckingham Palace, a voice  can be heard from somewhere offscreen making an abusive comment. Mr Cook gives a thumbs up gesture towards the person making the comment. Mr Sunak glances over but otherwise does not appear to react.
