TEHRAN—A collection of old and recent photos of the Iranian capital has been put on show at the UNESCO-designated Golestan Palace in downtown Tehran.

The three-day exhibition opened on Sunday at Shams-ol-Emareh (“Edifice of the Sun”), a 19th-century architectural masterpiece located within Tehran’s sole World Heritage site.

Organized to mark Tehran Week which, comes to an end on October 12, the event features a selection of 40 works taken by 20 photographers, CHTN reported.

Golestan Palace was once the official residence of the Qajar monarchs who ruled the country between 1789 and 1925. The company that owns the sole salvaging rights to the historic Titanic shipwreck is hosting a memorial service for its former employee and late Titan passenger Paul-Henri “PH” Nargeolet — a day after debuting its latest Titanic expo in Paris.

FORT PIERCE — In 1980 Joanne Martin and her husband Elmer Martin, both university professors in Maryland, set an ambitious goal outside their academic arena: “putting a face on a largely faceless history.” 

They did that by launching the nation’s only traveling wax exhibit of historic Black figures. The exhibit will make its first stop in Lincoln Park in recognition of Black History Month. It also will be showcased in Panama City and possibly Port St. Joe, Martin said. 

The traveling exhibit, “The political race: A wax figure exhibition and history of African Americans in politics,” will run Feb.10-12 at Means Court Elementary School, once the only school in St. Lucie County for Black students.
