A Derbyshire couple have spoken of their experience of hosting a Ukrainian family to encourage more people to come forward and open up their home to help.

Hearing in the news about the plight of people in Ukraine following the Russian invasion inspired Sarah Green and her husband Neil, along with their 10-year-old son James, to offer a home for refugees through the Government’s Home for Ukraine scheme.

“I couldn’t imagine what it must be like in their shoes,” said Sarah. “We had the space and we all thought it was something we could do. We wanted to help.”

A post about a brother refusing to accommodate his sister’s wedding at his property has gone viral on Reddit, where it had over 20,600 upvotes at the time of writing.

In a post shared on Reddit’s Am I The A****** (AITA) subforum under the username Throwrasistaplz, the 25-year-old brother said: “I own a property/popular wedding venue property that my sister wants to get married on, but she didn’t tell me the dates until a few months before. It is booked [by another couple] for the day she wants.”

“I won’t cancel the other couples’ reservations…” he wrote.

His 29-year-old sister allegedly “went off” on how he is “ruining HER day” and said he “should just tell the other couple to cancel.”

A video shared to Facebook claims that the Rockefeller family wrote a “secret covenant” that proves the public is being controlled by an elite class through secretive methods such as poison. 

The speaker in the video, which has 1.7 million views on TikTok, says: “This is their [the Rockefellers’] secret covenant and their clause of things that they want it to follow [sic].”

But there is no evidence that this secret plot is genuine or that the text is in any way connected to the Rockefellers—a prominent American family known for business and philanthropy. Many other posts, including one Full Fact checked recently, also quote versions of this “covenant” and specify John D. Rockefeller as its author.
