Vanna White opened up about her initial fears of working with Ryan Seacrest on Wheel of Fortune after Pat Sajak’s retirement.

In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, White admitted, “I was very scared” about adjusting to a new host after her long-standing partnership with Sajak.

However, she praised Seacrest, saying, “I think our chemistry is good… He’s doing a great job.”

“I’ve known Ryan for probably 20 years,” White said. “But in the past couple of months, we’ve done some travelling together for the show, and we got to know each other a little better, too.”

After hosting Wheel of Fortune for 41 years, Pat Sajak announced his departure from the show in June 2023.

A national government spending watchdog wants B.C. and the City of Vancouver to release the costs of hosting the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup, warning of an escalating price tag.

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation issued that call Thursday (March 14) after releasing the City of Toronto’s hosting contract with soccer’s world body. Toronto will host six games and Vancouver seven as two of 16 host cities spread across the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The Taxpayers Federation obtained Toronto’s contract through a freedom-of-information request. The hosting contracts of Seattle and Santa Clara near San Francisco are also publicly available.

Biden is hosting a Hanukkah ceremony at the White House as fears mount about rising antisemitism

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden is hosting a White House reception Monday evening to mark Hanukkah, celebrating the festival of lights as he has continued to denounce rising antisemitism in the U.S. and abroad amid the Israel-Hamas war.

The president, first lady Jill Biden and second gentleman Doug Emhoff will attend the event with nearly 800 guests. Invitees include Holocaust survivors, members of Congress, state and local officials, entertainers, and leaders from across the Jewish religious denominations, the White House says.

A menorah is lit nightly during the eight-day Jewish festival, which this year is being celebrated from Dec. 7 until Friday.
