From October 10 to 13, 2024, the Théâtre du Chatelet will be hosting a brand new festival: Urban Châtelet! For the first time, a festival dedicated to the hip-hop movement will be held at this legendary theater in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. The festival’s program offers a chance to discover the plurality of the hip-hop movement in the art world. Expect to see breaking, DJing, rap, graffiti and cinema.

Eastwood and Forestville Celebrate the Moon Festival Together – Insights Magazine

During the recent Moon Festival on Tuesday, September 17, we, the Eastwood Uniting Church, had a delightful time with our friends from Forestville Uniting Church for a wonderful friendship exchange. About 20 enthusiastic participants from Eastwood, including members from the English class and Community Café, joined the friendly congregation members at Forestville in a joyful program.

Rev. Seung Jae Yeon, Lead Minister at Eastwood Uniting Church firstly said, “A big thank you to Rev. Daniel Sanghyeon Nam and the amazing congregation at Forestville for creating such a warm and inviting atmosphere, allowing us all to celebrate the holiday spirit together here in Australia.”

Indiana County Hosts Annual Festival Dedicated to Covered Bridges

There are over 30 covered bridges located within the county alone.

This feels like something ripped straight out of Gilmore Girls and Stars Hollow! At least for a Millennial like myself, once I turned 35 it was like a switch just flipped; suddenly I’m obsessed with bird watching and covered bridges.

We’ve got a handful of covered bridges here in The Mittenseveral of which are open to vehicular traffic, but if you are looking for the mecca of covered bridges you need to make the short drive down to Indiana to the Covered Bridge Capital of the World.

In fact, there are so many historic covered bridges in this county alone they’ve dedicated an entire 10-day festival to it!

Acclaimed LA Pitmaster Kevin Bludso Is Hosting a Huge Barbecue Festival in Compton

Compton native Kevin Bludso, a James Beard award-winning cookbook author and owner of Bludso’s BBQs (which just opened a takeout and delivery location in Van Nuys on June 15), will host his first barbecue festival on July 26 and 27. Called Smoking Out The Hub, the festival will be held at Compton Airport with a national lineup of pitmasters, food vendors, and a competition featuring local barbecue contenders.

Demonstrations from Zef BBQ’s Logan Sandoval, Netflix American Barbecue Showdown contestant Rasheed Philips, and more will take place, along with food from Moos Craft Barbecue, Austin’s Distant Relatives, Dulan’s Soul Food, and the Goat Mafia. After the first Smoking Out The Hub this month, the traveling festival will also stop in Northern California and Las Vegas…

Burlington County Hosting Magic Lantern Performance Festival and Exhibit

MOUNT HOLLY – Take a step back in time and marvel at the beauty and atmosphere of 19th century entertainment during Burlington County’s Art of the Magic Lantern performance festival and exhibit.

“Before movies, televisions and videos were invented, there were magic lantern shows offering a fantastic mix of art, theater, science and music,” said Burlington County Commissioner Allison Eckel, the liaison to the Department of Resource Conservation and Parks. “We’re excited to give Burlington County residents and visitors the opportunity to experience this art, its history, and the science behind it, through live performances and a gallery exhibit organized by our Burlington County Parks System.”
