Bahamas to Host 2024 Afreximbank Annual Meetings, AfriCaribbean Trade Forum 

The Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) yesterday, signed the Agreement for The Bahamas to host the 31st Afreximbank Annual Meetings (AAM) and the third edition of the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF).

The AAM would be held in Nassau, The Bahamas, from 12th to 14th of June 2024.

A statement quoted President and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Afreximbank, Prof. Benedict Oramah, to have said: “Afreximbank’s historic decision to hold the 31st Afreximbank Annual Meetings in The Bahamas will be the first time it has been held in the Caribbean. South Africa to host forum dedicated to investment in tourism industry


Hundreds of business representatives will gather in Cape Town from 10 to 12 April for the Tourism Investment Forum Africa (Tifa). This is reported by
Pretoria News, a partner of TV BRICS.


The aim of the event is stated to be the development of business linkages between stakeholders and decision makers in the trade and investment aspects of the tourism ecosystem.


Forum organiser Miller Matola said that attracting funds to the tourism industry is bound to create jobs.


“By bringing investment you are facilitating the creation of employment but you are also ensuring inclusive economic growth,” he said.

Kenya to host four-day global counterterrorism forum

Nairobi is hosting a global forum to diminish terrorist recruitment and increase countries civilian capabilities in dealing with threats.

The four-day Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) 23rd Coordinating Committee will start on Monday, according to National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) director Rosalind Nyawira.

The forum seeks to promote strategic, long-term approach to prevent and counter terrorism and violent extremist ideologies that underpin it.

On Friday, Nyawira said the GCTF has for over a decade led global efforts to counter terrorism and violent extremism.
