County, town hosting forums focused on supporting unhoused people

Sessions for service providers, public taking place Oct. 19 at North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre

The County of Simcoe and the Town of Midland are hosting forums for service providers and residents with a focus on supporting people who are unhoused.

The forums will take place Oct. 19 at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre, 527 Len Self Blvd., Midland. The goal is “to foster and share ideas, tools, and resources with the purpose of uniting residents in building up a brighter future for unhoused individuals,” according to a news release.

The first forum is for local service providers. It will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free, but registration is required. Registration can be completed here.

Mail TLS Woes | MacRumors Forums

This on a 2010 MacBook running High Sierra, a 2015 MBA running Monterey, a couple of iPad 6s running17.0.2 and a iPhone 14 Pro also on 17.0.2.

I have a web hosting account with Host Gator on which I have set up two different e-mail accounts with different domains. I use one email account and my wife uses another. This has been working fine for years. But, just this morning none of the Mail apps on any of the above named devices can get mail from or send mail via either of the Host Gator email accounts. Looking at Connection Doctor indicates a TLS authentication error. Other mail accounts (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) are not affected.

We are currently at our condo which supplies us with a double-NATed Internection connection which normally works fine. We are using a TP-Link Deco X20…

Replacing web-site with blog? | MacRumors Forums

For about 15 years, I have been using Apple’s old iWeb and GoDaddy to build and maintain a simple public web-site (a homepage, plus 3 to 5 pages attached to that homepage) to inform visitors about a one-day annual history event. I’m contemplating migration to Apple Silicon hardware (which rules out using iWeb) and GoDaddy is a costly pain to rely on for domain-name hosting and web-server hosting. I’ve have numerous problems with them over the last ten years.

I’ve been thinking that it’s time to shut down the web-site altogether and instead start a no-cost blog. Are there any blogging services out there that are Mac-friendly, easy to post at least a few photos to, post updates on the event to, and also links so people can get the date of our event added to their calendar and also a…
