Posters protesting against Israel’s participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics featuring Amnesty International’s logo are circulating on social media, with one post on X (formerly Twitter) viewed more than 8,800 times. 

The images, which have also been shared hundreds of times on Facebook, show athletes wearing uniforms bearing the Israeli flag harming or threatening adults and children. 

One image shows a judo participant pinning a man down, while another shows a fencer holding a blade to a child’s neck. Another image shows an athlete pointing a gun at two young children, and one shows a swimmer holding a young girl underwater. The images include the Amnesty International logo and the hashtags #OlympicsAgainstGenocide and #BoycottGenocide.

The music superstar and TV host, 42, joined Access Hollywood’s Kit Hoover in Paris ahead of hosting the Olympics’ Opening Ceremony on July 26 and shared how she was acclimating to unexpected weather changes.

A video purporting to be a BBC news report about Ukrainian businessmen making donations to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is fake.

It has been shared on X (formerly Twitter), and also on Facebook. The video claims that “three of Ukraine’s richest businessmen have donated $8m to Donald Trump’s election campaign”. 

Text within the video, which features a BBC watermark, also claims the report has been produced with investigative journalism organisation Bellingcat. 

The video claims the donations occurred after the attempted assassination of the Republican presidential candidate on 13 July and says they were made through “cryptocurrency transactions” to Mr Trump’s “cryptocurrency wallet”.

Posts on social media which attribute comments about Islam and Ukraine to Donald Trump and imply he made them in his Republican National Convention speech are false.

The claim appears on several platforms, including on X (formerly Twitter), where it has been shared over 8,200 times, and Facebook—together with a nearly four minute video clip of the presidential candidate making a speech. In some examples the posts include a picture of Mr Trump rather than the video.

They include a supposed quote from Mr Trump, saying: “I will not tolerate Islamic Terrorism at any cost. The Russia Ukraine war is not a real issue.

An altered image appearing to show American Vice President Kamala Harris with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein is circulating on social media. In recent days, President Joe Biden announced he was dropping out of the US election race and endorsed Ms Harris to take his place as the Democratic Party’s nominee. 

The picture appears to show Ms Harris smiling and standing next to Epstein. But the image has been edited to include Epstein’s face. 

Using Google Lens, Full Fact was able to find the same photo being debunked almost three years ago by AFP.

The original photo, which is much clearer than the edited version, shows Ms Harris with her husband, Douglas Emhoff, at a black tie event in 2015.
